A free event for the Ellerslie Community!
We’re celebrating Christmas a little differently this year with an event that has our community at its heart.
On Friday 8 December from 3 - 6.30pm, we’re taking over the Ellerslie Town Square and Arthur Street carpark. There will be:
Live Christmas music from the Jazz Santas 🎅🏽
Christmas carols 🎶
A bouncy castle 🏰
Bubbles and face painting 🫧🖌️
Kids activities including play doh, colouring and craft and rock painting 🧒🏽👧🏽
There’ll be cheeky elves granting wishes 🧝🏽
A mini expo for community groups (held in the War Memorial Hall)
Plus, it wouldn’t be Christmas without a visit from the man himself – Santa – who’ll be ho-ho-hoing and posing for (free) photos 🎅🏽
We're also really excited to have so many local groups involved.

St Mary's Catholic School and Christ Church, Ellerslie are performing from 3pm
Ellerslie Toy Library have a Christmas play pop-up in the Hall (so many great toys)
Ellerslie School are selling festive floss
C3 Church Auckland have a rock painting station
Pohutukawa Kindergarten Ellerslie are running Christmas colouring
Scoop & Smile and Pastrami & Rye have sweet treats available
Ellerslie Rotary Club are selling their Christmas pudding

Lowbrow - $10 pints and beers and glasses of wine
Mr Tanaka's - from 3pm until close, 2 for 1 Karaage, $10 draft beer and $10 prosecco
Urban India - unlimited buffet for $20 per person and free kids' meals. Available on the buffet is butter chicken, lamb rogan josh and dal makhani plus butter naan bread. Available dine-in only.
Kindness Collective's Joy Store
We're wanting to bring a bit of joy this Christmas season and so we're excited to announce that we'll be collecting donations for Kindness Collective's Christmas Joy Store at Christmas in the Square.
The Christmas Joy Store is New Zealand’s first social toy store that provides referred parents and caregivers with the opportunity to shop for their children, choosing gifts they know they’ll love, off the shelves for free.
If you're out shopping over the next few weeks, and able, we'd love you to consider purchasing a toy for the store. At Christmas in the Square we'll be collecting donations - just look for the Christmas tree. We'd love to see the Ellerslie Community support this great cause.
